Bloggeraid is a growing group of international food bloggers determined to make a difference in aid of world famine. Our love of food and community brought us together to reach out and help those less fortunate than we are.
As part of their mission to make a change in a world where starvation affects such a profound number of people, Bloggeraid founders Val of More Than Burnt Toast, Ivy of Kopiaste and Giz of Equal Opportunity Kitchen embarked on their largest fundraiser to date: a BloggerAid Cookbook. The cookbook, targeted for sale at Amazon sometime in November/December of 2009, will contain original recipes donated by food bloggers around the world. One hundred percent (100%) of the profit from the sales will be directed to School Meals, a program of The World Food Programme (WFP), the United Nations frontline agency.
Here is a photo preview of the recipe I contributed, a variation/combination of two of my comfort foods which always reminds me of my childhood in the Philippines: Champorado (Chocolate Rice Porridge) and Leche Flan (Filipino Creme Caramel). There is still time to join this very important cause. The deadline for recipe submission has been extended to 31 March 2009. If you would like to submit a recipe, visit the BloggerAid website for more details.
