Lasang Pinoy Sundays: RESTO – rant

The Brigantine at Del Mar, CA
Just the perfect timing for this week’s Lasang Pinoy theme. Â Last Tuesday, we met up with some friends to try out the “First Catch” 3-course menu at The Brigantine in Del Mar, CA. One of the many popular seafood restaurants in the San Diego area, The Brigantine sits next to the train tracks, but if you choose the right table, you’ll have a fantastic view of the Pacific Ocean. Â (Unfortunately, the photo below doesn’t show it. Â I used my little Canon point and shoot and took the shot from the wrong angle. Â Oh well…at least you get to see the enclosed deck! LOL)
Starting at $19 (appetizer, entree and dessert), the First Catch menu was really good. Â For appetizer, I had the Ahi Tuna Tartare with Asian Slaw , Crispy Wonton and Wasabi Vinaigrette (the other choices were clam chowder or salad). Â
Then I chose Pan Roasted Scallops with Sweet Corn Potato and Brown Butter…..
and for dessert, I feasted on Vanilla Creme Brulee.Â
Our friends looked very satisfied…
