Spicy Turkey Teriyaki Meatballs

teriyakimeatballs2

We love Aidell’s Teriyaki and Pineapple Meatballs which is made from ground chicken.  But we don’t always find it at our local Costco or grocery stores so I decided to experiment and make our own teriyaki meatballs.  I used ground turkey meat, added some crushed chili pepper and baked it in Yoshida gourmet sauce.  The taste is not like Aidell’s but it’s getting there. :)  It’s still a good appetizer and freezes well.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground turkey meat
  • 1 8 0z can crushed pineapple, fruit and juice
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 6 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/3 cup chopped coriander, leaves and stems
  • 1 tbs crushed chili pepper
  • 2 tbs fish sauce
  • 1/2 cup Yoshida gourmet sauce
  • another 1/4 cup Yoshida gourmet sauce for baking

Directions:

  1. In a bowl, mix first 8 ingredients thoroughly.
  2. Preheat oven to 350F.
  3. Shape mixture into 1 inch balls (or bigger if you want) and place in a baking dish.
  4. Pour the remaining gourmet sauce over the meatballs and bake until center is not pink anymore. Turn oven off and leave the meatballs in the oven until cool.
  5. To serve, sprinkle with 1 tbs gourmet sauce and chopped basil or fried minced garlic.

Yum! The turkey meatballs look so delicious.
The recipe doesn’t seemed to be too hard, either.
I’m definitely going to try it out!

I could pop these into my mouth, one after the other, before anyone else had a chance to taste them! They looks so savory . . . !
