Foodbuzz Tastemaker: Alexia Gourmet Foods

I was recently given the opportunity to try Alexia Gourmet Foods through the Foodbuzz Tastemaker program. I received a coupon in the mail for any Alexia Gourmet Food. I was surprised to find so many different kinds–from sides to entrees–we decided to pick up a couple of them to try.  The first one we tried was the flavored potatoes called Oven Reds. The parmesan and roasted garlic flavors were subtle so we added more to suit our taste.  The next one on our list was the garlic baguette.

Each package contains two baguette pieces which makes it great if you have company.  And if there’s just the two of you? Bake only one and keep the other in the freezer!!! I would have preferred it to have more garlicky flavor  but that’s just me.  My DH decided to treat me to a “one-of-a-kind” soup to enjoy with the garlic baguette.  According to him, this should be tried by all bachelors (hmmm…??) because its a breeze to make.  Uh..yeah.  Open cans, put contents in pot, boil, enjoy.

I must say, this soup was tasty!!!!  Thanks, Alexia for letting me try your gourmet products!!!!!  Next on my list are the sweet potato fries! I’m thinking ‘fish and chips’.

  • 1 can chicken broth
  • 1 can whole kernel corn
  • 1 can sauerkraut
  • 2 cups real bacon bits

  1. Place all ingredients in a pot and bring to a boil. Turn heat on low and simmer for 10 minutes or until ready to serve.
  2. Serve with Alexia’s garlic bread or Oven Reds.

LIFE IS TOO SHORT…… lots of garlic!!!!
