A Southern Birthday Dinner
posted by virtual chef on Mar 3, 2011 | Entrees |
Too many birthdays to celebrate in February. And it’s always an excellent idea to combine them all into one evening of fantastic food and wonderful company! A few weeks ago, we did just that courtesy of our friends Jim and Gretchen from Louisiana. Three birthdays were celebrated with a southern flair: Trout Amandine, Melt-in-the-mouth grits and Garlic Asparagus.
And the appetizers? Grilled duck breast wrapped in jalapeno pepper, pate, smoked mussels, a variety of cheese and crackling pork with clam dip.
Did I mention that the trout served were caught by our hosts from the Gulf? And that the duck breast appetizer was from ducks they hunted during hunting season?
Thanks, Jim and Gretchen for a wonderful party! I can’t wait for my fishing and hunting “vacation” in October!!!!
LIFE IS TOO SHORT……enjoy it with friends!!!!
